EMPLOYEE HIRING AND RETENTION

This subcommittee also serves as the affirmative action committee, which has been in operation for a number of years. The charge of this subcommittee is:

  • to clarify staff classifications across campus, as well as hiring regions for each
  • to establish goals, based on data from above, for ethnic diversity per "campus hiring region"
  • to study retention/turnover rates for different employee constituencies
  • to study the possibilities of expanding faculty hiring processes to certain staff positions

The current members of this subcommittee are:

  • Maddie Marquez, chair, acting director for Center for Innovative Education and acting affirmative action officer
  • Melissa Burch, assistant professor of cognitive development
  • Michelle Bigenho, associate professor of anthropology
  • Aracelis Girmay, assistant professor of poetry
  • Cindy Gill, assistant professor of physiology
  • Araiña Muñiz, housing director: Greenwich/Enfield House
  • Daniel Schrade, associate professor of art
