Media play an integral role in twenty-first century education. The Harold F. Johnson Library offers a variety of media access to all members of the Hampshire community. 

Media Services

The media services office provides portable media equipment to enable students to capture and explore their ideas and the world at large—enriching their vision and skills. The media services staff coordinates the booking of all films and videos in the Five College collections, loans of media production equipment, film preview room reservations, and film/video reference help. 

The Media Services office is located on the main floor of the library (look for the big green sign on the right).

Advanced Media

The advanced media labs provide sophisticated post-production environments. We provide students with the skills, hardware and software to make, develop and present media. The advanced media staff provides training and skill development in the production of media.The work ranges from video editing, sound design, and interactive DVDs to still photography, page layout, presentations, and QuickTime VRs.

This service is primarily designed for students, but faculty and staff are frequent clients. Additionally, we install and maintain labs, classrooms and facilities for media presentation and production.
