Library and Computer Services

Library and Computer Services includes traditional and electronic library services, audio-visual and advanced media production, academic, administrative and personal computing, network, television and telephone services, and the college gallery.  The staff provide reliable and sophisticated systems and services to the college community.  We empower students, faculty and staff to be self-sufficient users of information and information technologies and provide a variety of training in support of that mission.

Library - The Hampshire College Library Center holds a collection of over 100,000 volumes, more than 20,000 online journals, as well as film, DVD, CD and slide resources.  It provides access to the holdings both of the Five College libraries and worldwide collections.

Media Services and Advanced Media - The Media Services office coordinates the booking of all films and videos in the Five College collections, loans of video production and audio/visual equipment, reservations for film preview rooms and film/video reference help.

Computer Services - At Hampshire, computers play an important part in academic (and social) life. The Hampshire Information Technology Department (IT) recognizes this, and is committed to supporting your computer needs.

Gallery - Located on the ground floor of the library building, the Hampshire College art gallery is a showcase of student, local, and national artwork.

College Archives - The Hampshire College archives collects, preserves and makes available documents and information on the history of Hampshire College.
