The Hampshire College Farm Center is a working farm and thriving educational center, providing agricultural programs for the College, local community members, and school groups.
Expect More from Your Food
With an eye toward the cultural, sustainable, and nutritional aspects of food production, the Farm Center is dedicated to educating future generations of healthy, ethical food producers and consumers.
The Farm Center won't just teach you how to farm; it will teach you how to farm for the future. And you'll learn to eat well, too.
Academics at Work
From studying animal behavior to agriculture, Hampshire students in a wide variety of fields use the Farm Center as a hub for investigating the intellectual, political, and scientific issues surrounding food production.
Internships and Work-Study Opportunities
Learning at Hampshire doesn’t end in the classroom. Students here live their educations and, with the internship and work-study opportunities at the Farm Center, can grow their educations from the seed to the table and beyond.
Visitors are Welcome
Visitors and volunteers are welcome to tour the Farm Center and are encouraged to get involved. As we are a working farm, certain production areas of the farm do have limited access.

History
Created in the late 1970s as an experimental project of the Natural Science faculty, the Farm Center continues to be a place where students and faculty integrate science and alternative technology as a means for testing sustainable methods of farming.
