Design, Art, and Technology (DART)
The Hampshire College DART (Design, Art, and Technology) Program fosters and supports inventive explorations at the intersections of art, design, and technology.
DART aims to transcend disciplinary boundaries to create new artistic processes and innovative ways of thinking that explore synergies of design, art, technology, and their impacts on individuals, society, and culture.

The DART Program is an opportunity for students and faculty to explore intellectual and artistic cross-fertilization through:
Can a Room be Made to Have Empathy?
Thom Long and John Slepian asked a group of students to give it a try this January.
The class, titled "The Empathetic Space" and part of Hampshire's new Design, Art, and Technology program (DART), used architectural theory, interactive computing, and mechanical systems to augment the lobby of Hampshire's Johnson Library.
