Agricultural Studies/Farm Center
The Hampshire College Farm Center is a working farm, as well as a research, education, and outreach facility dedicated to sustainable agriculture.
Involves students in the process of design and invention.
U.S. Southwest and Mexico Program
This program has strong links to learning and research opportunities in the southwest and Mexico. Faculty in anthropology and other areas are highly active in this area.
Design, Art, and Technology: Innovation Synergy (DART)
DART aims to create new ways of thinking about how design, art, and technology converge. And how, together, they can shape and influence perception and society.
Arts and Social Action Program
The social sciences traditionally have been associated with analysis, and the arts with creativity. What if we refused the authority of those old categories? What if we used the arts to challenge and expand social theory? And used social theory to recognize creativity as a means for social actions?
Recognizing that law and legal processes and concepts are integrally involved in political, social, environmental, economic, scientific, and other issues, Hampshire College has given law a significant place in its curriculum.
Population and Development
This program exists to change conventional thinking and policies about population growth that threaten reproductive rights, social justice, and our environment. Tools for change include research, facts, expert analysis, and activist and educational publications.
