Application and Fees

Application Deadline
Applications are available online.

Tuition and Fees
Required costs to students include tuition and food costs for communal meals during program hours:

6 Week, 8 Credit Equivalent
Tuition: $3,100
Room: $1,050 (for residential students)
Meals: $400

If you are a Hampshire student interested in seeking financial aid, you should indicate your intent on the application. The financial aid office will be notified directly and will determine if you have any remaining 2012-2013 eligibility for federal grant and loan funds. Students from other colleges should check with their home institutions regarding available financial aid.

Housing and Food
Students will prepare and share meals both in their living spaces and at the Thorpe House at the Hampshire College Farm Center during program hours. Residential students will be housed in the College apartments closest to the Farm Center. Students are responsible for breakfast and dinner as well as weekend meals. Weekday lunches will be communal and provided by a shared food budget. Students will have access to local farm food. Weekday lunch preparation and clean-up of common areas will be part of the chore rotation.

Health Insurance
Please note that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires all students to carry health insurance. Upon acceptance to the Food, Farm, and Sustainability Summer Academic Program, you will be asked to provide proof of insurance or required to purchase temporary coverage that could increase the overall program cost.
