The Foundation for Psychocultural Research-Hampshire College Program in Culture, Brain, and Development (FPR-HC CBD) is an innovative interdisciplinary program that reaches across Hampshire’s five schools to promote learning and research. CBD offers multi-disciplinary courses, lectures, and other programs for students and faculty that question and examine issues surrounding the study of culture, mind/brain, and human development.
If you have ever wondered about the nature of consciousness, how life experiences influence the expression of genes, or if you want to learn more about how your emotions are influenced by your culture and your biology, join in discussions with CBD students and faculty and explore the many opportunities offered by CBD, including:
Courses and Tutorials
CBD in Divisions I, II, and III
Funding for Student Projects and Internships
CBD Student Group
Public Events and Lectures
The Event Related Potential (ERP) Lab
The Neuroendocrinology and Behavior Lab
Funding for Faculty Working Groups
Funding for Faculty CBD Course Development
CBD and its programs are made possible by generous funding from Dr. Robert Lemelson and The Foundation for Psychocultural Research (FPR). FPR and founding director Dr. Barbara Yngvesson launched CBD in 2003. CBD is currently in its second funding cycle, and is directed by Dr. Jane Couperus.
