Reason I working at Hampshire: It’s a pleasure to be working in an environment where the educational needs and students' passions come first. This focus is the central driving force behind academic endeavors. To share Hampshire’s philosophy, pedagogical style and culture - in the service of prospective students and their families - is exciting.
Favorite thing about living in Five College area: The Pioneer Valley is rich with higher education. Throw in great restaurants, museums, historic sites and cultural events — making this area ideal!
Piece of advice for prospects in college search process: The methodology of research is a valued commodity at Hampshire. With that in mind, doing a comprehensive college search cannot be emphasized enough. Use all the resources available to you such as Internet, guidance counselors, family and friends, and visiting campuses if possible—and find a college that best suit your needs.
Favorite book and why: We are not Saved, by Derrick Bell because he examines, race, gender, class, and uses satire... in the context of law and Supreme Court decisions to give understanding to complex issues.
Bell is an amazing writer!
Favorite movie and why: Shawshank Redemption. This drama illustrates the enduring quality of hope and the human spirit.
Favorite quotes: "It matters not how strait the gate or charged with punishments the scroll. I am the captain of my fate the master of my soul."
~ William Ernest Hensley
and
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
~Albert Einstein
Favorite way to procrastinate: Doodling chemistry formulas on paper.
A random fact about me: I am wealth of totally useless information.
