What if I'm having trouble registering or deciding what package is best for me?

  • The alumni and family relations staff is happy to help you sort through registration options and/or help you register. You can reach them at or 413.559.6638.

Why are you having reunions? What if I'm not a member of the anniversary class?

  • Anniversary years provide a focus for celebration and a chance to reconnect with people you knew and to form new friendships. We recognize that friend groups frequently span your student years, which is why reunion celebrations are open to everyone attending, and friends are encouraged to come back and join the fun.
  • Not interested in reunions? Not an alum? Div IV provides everyone with chances to connect through theme-based academic programing, fun activities, and social events.

Should I bring my spouse or my kids?

  • Div IV is designed to be a  "alumni college" experience. Spouses, significant others, companions, and friends are invited to come and actively participate in the programming. While there is no formal children's program, some activities may be interesting for older children or teens. Please be sensitive to others when deciding whether or not to bring children to sessions or workshops. Unsure? Contact us at or 413.559.6638.

What should I do to prepare for the weekend?

  • Read the common reading, Guitar Zero: The New Musician and the Science of Learning by Gary Marcus 86F. The book will be sent to you when you register.
  • Check the alumni directories to reconnect with friends, see if they're planning to attend, and ensure your profile is up-to-date, so classmates can get in touch with you.
  • Tweet your excitement using #divIV.
  • Pack your camera.

What if I can't make it, but still want to participate?

  • Give to the Hampshire Fund to support Hampshire's work in social change.
  • Submit a class note Let your classmates know how social change impacts your career, your family, or your life.
  • Contact alumni and family relations at to find out how to get involved in Div IV 2014.

Where can I go to relax and meet up with friends?

  • Div IV 2013: Culture, Mind, and Body brings participants together at meals and during evening activities. A lounge will be set up in Franklin Patterson Hall during the weekend, and Saturday evening reunion receptions will offer the opportunity for members and friends of the anniversary classes to reconnect during the Reunion Celebrations.

What if I need assistance getting around campus?

  • Please make us aware of any needs on your registration form. Disabilities services will contact you to discuss these needs.

What should I wear?

  • There are a wide range of acitivities offered--from classes, to swimming, to evening receptions and meals--so while casual clothes are suitable for most activities, you may wish to pack a wide range of clothing.
