We thank the alumni, parents, and friends who participated in our first-ever Alumni Travel Program to Havana, Cuba in January, 2013. This program was a great success.
We're sorry report that we cannot run the trips this year. A combination of factors have conspired against our being able to do the trips in 2014, but we are hopeful that in 2015 we'll be able again to offer a Hampshire trip to Cuba.
The Alumni Travel Program draws on the close contacts made during Hampshire’s unique twelve-year-old Study Abroad Program in Havana, run in conjunction with the Cuban Union of Artists and Writers (UNEAC).
Participants meet with sociologists, musicians, visual artists, architects and planners, filmmakers, and dancers for discussions and performances. All those leading the tours, workshops, and discussions are members of UNEAC and have worked closely with Hampshire faculty and students since the founding of the program.*
