Points to Ponder for September

Are you a 3rd semester student?
Have you finished your Div I requirements? If not, make sure you take any requirements this semester. If you have completed courses, talk to your advisor to find out what s/he wants you to include in your Div I portfolio. Start working on them and schedule a final meeting. Start planning your Div II preliminary proposal due on March 30. Why is this important? You have an opportunity to request up to three possible chairs and three possible members for your Div II committee. Posting your preliminary proposal will allow those faculty members to view your statement. Speak to your advisor and lots of faculty before and after this date to discuss your ideas and find committee members and begin turning a proposal into a Div II contract. Posting your Div II preliminary proposal will give you the best chance to end up with a committee you actually want to work with. Contracts will be signed in early February. If you want a committee chair or member in creative writing, theatre, film/photo/video, get the appropriate application form. It is due on March 30.

CASA is holding a number of workshops to help you through the Div II preliminary proposal/filing process. Check your email for announcements.

Are you a 4th semester student who hasn't filed Div 2?
You really care about the February 16 Div II filing deadline. Spend lots of time prior to this deadline finding a chair; make sure your chair AND your member sign your contract on TheHub. Are you planning to graduate in May 2013?
Start planning your Div III preliminary proposal, which is due on March 30. CASA is holding a number of workshops to help you through the Div III preliminary proposal/filing process. Check the dates below and your email for announcements. If you have any questions or problems, please make an appointment with Anne Downes in CASA, ext. 5498.

Are you planning to graduate in December 2013?
Be sure to pass Div 2 by February 16 and file Div 3 by February 22. If you have any questions or problems, please make an appointment with Anne Downes in CASA, ext. 5498.
