The Foundation for Psychocultural Research (FPR)/Hampshire College (HC) Program in Culture, Brain, and Development (CBD)

The CBD Program began its second cycle of funding from Dr. Robert Lemelson and The Foundation for Psychocultural Research (FPR) for $1 million in July, 2008. The CBD Program formally links the Hampshire College's five schools in order to facilitate student and faculty work at the intersections of anthropology, biology, psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, sociology, and related fields. CBD sponsors events such as public lectures and seminars, and it offers competitive funding for students to encourage upper-level research, projects, and internships exploring the intersections of culture, brain, and human development.

The FPR also funds a graduate CBD Program at UCLA.

The founding director of the FPR/HC CBD program is Professor of Anthropology Barbara Yngvesson, Hampshire College.
