The Foundation for Psychocultural Research (FPR) - Hampshire College (HC) Program in Culture, Brain, and Development (CBD)
The CBD Program begins its second cycle of funding from The Foundation for Psychocultural Research (FPR) for $1 million in July, 2008. The CBD Program formally links the Hampshire College Schools of Cognitive Science, Social Science, and Natural Science in order to facilitate student and faculty work at the intersection of anthropology, biology, psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, sociology, and related fields. Over the next five years Hampshire will expand the CBD curriculum, upgrade laboratory facilities, and develop and strengthen connections across the Five College academic community.
CBD sponsors events such as public lectures, seminars, and its Distinguished Lecture Series. It offers competitive funding for students to encourage upper-level research, projects, and internships exploring the intersections of culture, brain, and human development.
The FPR also funds a graduate CBD Program at UCLA.
