Hampshire College designs advanced Web sites that use the latest Web technology. In creating our Web sites, we endeavor to test and support as many browsers as is practical. While other browsers and versions may work, we recommend Internet Explorer 6.x or higher, Firefox 2.0 or higher, and Safari 2.1 or higher.

One of the reasons for targeting advanced browsers is to provide a better interface and to build pages that meet World Wide Web Consortium standards. In addition, we cannot ensure that our sites will work properly with the beta version of any browser and so we do not support any non-production release versions (Alpha or Beta releases).

• Firefox 2.0 and higher (Firefox)
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher (Microsoft)
• Opera 8.2 and higher (Opera)
• Safari 2.1 and higher (Safari)

Please Note: The IT Department does not support earlier versions of any of the Web browsers listed above. If you are using an earlier version of any of these browsers, your experience on our Web sites will be improved by upgrading to the most current version.

This policy pertains mostly to Web browsing; we may occasionally set more stringent browser requirements for use with newly developed Web services.
