Tips for watching these videos:

1. Look at our YouTube quick reference sheet first for tips on how to get the best viewing experience.
2. Make sure the sound on your computer is turned on (we recommend using headphones).
3. Have Excel open as you watch these videos. You can download a practice spreadsheet here. Pause the video as needed to switch to Excel and try out what you've just seen. Then, when you're ready to move on, play the video again.
4. You can also print out the handout and use it as a reference while you're working.

Tutorial Videos:

• Importing Data from a Text File - Take data from a .txt or .csv and bring it into Excel. Here's a practice .csv file.
• Using Filters - Easily and quickly sort your data or view records for only certain criteria.
• Relative and Absolute Cell References - Choose whether the cells a formula refers to move when it moves, or stay fixed in place.
• "Text to Columns" Command - Take data in a cell and split it out into multiple cells. Turn "John Smith" into "John" "Smith".
  
• Subtotals - Automatically add subtotals to your spreadsheet.
• "Concatenate" Function - Take data in multiple cells and combine it in one cell. Turn "John" "Smith" into "John Smith".
