Using the Updated Announcement System

IT's web services team has been working on some changes to the Intranet announcement system. Take a quick read before you post your next announcement or event.

You may have noticed that your Daily Digest of announcements is now categorized. That's just one of the changes to the announcement system rolled out this week. If you're placing an announcement on the Intranet, read through the changes before posting.

  • Every announcement must now be placed in a category. If you don't see an appropriate category, use "Other."
  • There is no longer a "Personal Announcement" checkbox; instead, there are categories to cover what most personal announcements cover (Rideshares, Rentals, etc.).
  • Lost and Found items are now sent out in the Daily Digest. Enter your lost or found item by clicking on the "add item to the list" link under "Lost and Found." It will automatically be added into the next Daily Digest.
  • Events will automatically be added to the Daily Digest, so there's no need to double post an announcement with an event. The Daily Digest posting will go out seven days before the event, and then each day thereafter until the day of the event.
