Your Appointment With A Career Counselor

An individual appointment is tailored to your specific needs. We will spend between 30 and 45 minutes with you depending on the purpose of the meeting. Most students who come in for appointments:

• sort out priorities and values for work and life
• discuss how interests, academic background, and personality contribute to career choices
• brainstorm career ideas and create a plan of action
• identify career resources
• plan job search strategies
• learn to write effective resumes and cover letters
• learn about interview strategies and practice interviewing skills
• discuss internship opportunities
• discuss grad school opportunities and get advice on writing applications.

Drop Ins at CORC

Although you are encouraged to make appointments, you are always welcome to drop by to use the Center.

On Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2-4PM, you can drop in and talk to a counselor directly on a first-come, first-served basis.

We are able to answer some questions via email. However, we will often suggest that you call and/or give us your phone number, so that we can have a more interactive discussion as you are sorting out options or strategizing plans.
