The CTL's mission is to encourage, support, and promote excellent and innovative pedagogy that helps students develop as independent, creative learners; helps faculty develop and reflect on their own distinctive practice; and stimulates and supports honest exchange about teaching and learning within the context of our distinctive pedagogy.

Objectives

• Provide forums for discussion of effective classroom teaching for all faculty
• Develop and run programs for new faculty
• Stimulate discussion about student-active pedagogy faculty consider especially effective at Hampshire
• Enhance collegial exchange of information and ideas about teaching and learning
• Promote cross-college discussions about teaching and learning
• Provide support (information, personal, and financial) to improve classroom teaching
• Promote reflective teaching practice
• Support scholarship on teaching and learning
