ON-CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT
Students in F-1 status may work on campus provided 1) they are maintaining F-1 status and (2) they do not work more than a total of 20 hours per week while school is in session. Students may be employed full-time during holidays and vacation periods, including summer vacations, provided they are eligible. If students are interested in working at any of the other four colleges of the Five Colleges, then they must first talk with the international student advisor in MISS.

OFF-CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT
F-1 students have several off-campus employment options available to them, provided they are maintaining lawful student status and are in good academic standing.

Curricular Practical Training (CPT): Employment prior to completion of studies that is either required as part of your curriculum or for which you will receive academic credit. Click here for the application.

Optional Practical Training (OPT): Post-completion OPT is work authorization after completion of your academic program that is related to your field of study and commensurate with your educational level. Refer to the links to the left for a further description and for application forms.

Employment Under Sponsorship of Certain International Organizations: Employment with a recognized international organization. This employment does not affect your later eligibility for Optional Practical Training.

Employment Due to Severe Economic Hardship: Students who are experiencing a severe, unforeseen economic hardship may be eligible for this type of employment.
