For the 2011 fall semester, the arrival date for new students is 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 1. For continuing students the arrival date is Monday, September 5, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Students who have responsibilities necessary to open the College for the arrival of new students will be allowed to arrive before their assigned return date. Their date for arrival will reflect their responsibilities and is determined by their supervisor.
Students requesting an early arrival must fill out an "early arrival form." Student support staff does NOT need to fill out an early arrival form if they will be arriving on the date given by their supervisor. Only student workers requesting to arrive before their official start date must fill out a form.
Students not working to open the College and requesting to arrive before their assigned date must have completed an early arrival request form no later than August 15, 2011.
Twenty-four hours is the usual exception for arriving prior to our official start dates and never more than forty-eight hours. Permission for early arrival is usually reserved for those students traveling long distances to arrive at the College.
Those approved for early arrival will be billed $100 per day for each day they are on campus prior to their official opening day.
Approval for early arrival will be given based on need. We do not guarantee every request will be approved. Responses to all requests will be sent by email. Approvals will include the arrival date and details about being on campus early.
Please note that ONLY THE STUDENT making the request is allowed to stay on campus before the beginning of the academic year. No guests are allowed to stay on campus during the early arrival period.
