Aniruddha Maitra, Five College Fellow, is a PhD candidate in Modern Culture and Media at Brown University. He received his BA and MA in English from Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India. His dissertation "Narcissism and the Scene of Reading" examines the relationship between capitalism and minoritarian literary aesthetics in an era of unequal globalization. His publications include articles on queer cinema and diasporic literature in journals like Camera Obscura, Continuum, and South Asian Popular Culture. Maitra will teach a HACU course titled "Sexuality and Capitalism" in Spring 2013.
