Hugh Crowl
Hugh Crowl, Five College Astronomy and Science Education Fellow, holds a Ph.D. in astronomy from Yale University and a B.A. in astronomy and physics from Wesleyan University.
His primary research interest is studying the effect of environment on the formation and evolution of galaxies. Currently he is studying the gas and stellar properties of galaxies in the nearby Virgo cluster. In addition to research, he is interested in how to best inform and excite the public about astronomy.
At Hampshire, he is developing and teaching a course that will teach students about communicating astronomy to the public using electronic media.
