Steven Weisler
Steven Weisler, professor of linguistics, obtained his Ph.D. from Stanford and was a Sloan post-doctoral fellow in cognitive science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He also holds an M.A. in communication from Case Western Reserve University.
His is founder and director of Hampshire’s Innovative Instruction Laboratory, which explores educational applications of multimedia technology, and has produced for MIT Press a CD-ROM edition of Theory of Language. He is co-author of the 1987 and 1995 editions of Cognitive Science: An Introduction, the first undergraduate textbook in the field.
His main interests lie in semantics, syntax, language acquisition, and the philosophy of language.
