Tibetan Studies in India

A Five College program administered by Smith College

Hampshire students are eligible to apply for the Tibetan Studies in India program (TSIP) during January. As part of an ongoing academic exchange program with the Tibetan universities in exile in India, each year the Five Colleges send fifteen students to spend January studying Buddhist philosophy, Tibetan history and culture, and Tibetan textual analysis in an intensive program taught by the faculty of the Central University of Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, India. How to Apply

Because this is a Five College program, Hampshire students will need to apply through Smith College.

Hampshire students seeking financial assistance through GEO will also need to contact Katie Irwin, kirwin@hampshire.edu, and complete the Hampshire College TSIP Financial Assistance Form. Deadline TBD

Eligibility

Financial Information

Fully-enrolled Hampshire students who receive need-based financial aid are eligible to apply for financial assistance through the global education office (GEO). Students must meet Hampshire's Short-term Field Course Eligibility Requirements in order to be eligible for funding. Interested students should contact Katie Irwin, kirwin@hampshire.edu, and complete the Hampshire College TSIP Financial Assistance Form.
