Thank you for taking the initiative to lead an international or domestic academic field course. As you know, short-term off-campus courses create opportunities for our students to access another culture in an educational experience. Hampshire College has a commitment to offering a broad range of short-term Field Courses. Please read the Faculty Handbook for Proposing and Leading Short-Term Field Courses and take the time to answer honestly whether the off-campus course you are proposing can and will be successful.

The Global Education Office is here to assist you in the development and execution of study abroad programming, both semester and short-term field courses. Submitting Short-Term Field Course Proposals

In recent years, January Term and now field courses run in May have become a critical part of the academic curriculum, and an increasing number of faculty are teaching full academic courses during January or May. Faculty can submit proposals for academic field courses using the online Short-Term Field Course Proposal Form

January Term 2009
Course proposals for January Term 2009 will be accepted from February-April 2008. The deadline for January Term 2009 course proposals is end of April, 2008. Proposals will be reviewed in May and June 2008; notification of accepted courses will be in Summer 2008.

May Term 2009
Course proposals for May Term 2009 will be accepted from February-April 2008. The deadline for May Term 2009 course proposals is end of April, 2008. Proposals will be reviewed in May and June 2008; notification of accepted courses will be in Summer 2008.
