Prescott Basics

Each mod houses four to 10 residents, all in single rooms. Every mod contains a common living/dining room, a kitchen, and one to two bathrooms. Many mods contain a bedroom called a "cathedral" room. Cathedral rooms have tall ceilings that create a more spacious feel. Some Prescott mods also have three or four rooms with a loft creating a small "upstairs" space. There are laundry facilities centrally located in the basement of the "mods 77-80 & 103" tower.

Residence Life Coordinator

The residence life coordinator is a live-in, professional staff member who is available to answer questions, give advice, and help with whatever issues might arise. The residence life coordinator has regular office hours in the Prescott area office and residents are welcome to make appointments. The residence life coordinator supervises the Prescott community facilitators, who are student staff members. They are available to support residents, reinforce community norms, and plan activities to enrich residence life.

Rooms

The average single in Prescott is about 80 square feet, and comes with a dresser, clothes-hanging rod, bed, desk, desk chair, bookshelf, recycling bin, and a small waste basket. There are no double rooms in Prescott, except in suite 104, which has the largest double room on campus.

Common Areas

Each mod has a common kitchen and living/dining room to be shared by all residents. There are also shared bathrooms (at least one for every five residents). Please note the College does not provide common area furniture or regular cleaning services in the mods.

Keys

Every Prescott resident receives two keys: one to the resident's bedroom and one that unlocks the entry doors of the mod. Some Prescott mods are equipped with OneCard access.

Phones

Most students bring cell phones with them, therefore rooms are not equipped with a landline. Students may request a landline by placing a "phone" ticket via TheHub or contacting the housing operations office. Outgoing long distance calls require a calling card, though room phones can receive them. Each mod also is able to be equipped with a landline phone upon request. These phones can be used for on-campus, local, and toll-free phone calls only.
