Substance Free Housing
Definition of Substance Free
Students agree to the following conditions of living in a substance free mod or hallway:
Process for Being Housed in Substance Free Housing
Students wishing to live in substance free housing MUST apply. Applications are available in the Housing office. Applications will be kept confidential. There is a deadline for applications each spring, prior to the lottery. It is assumed that most applicants that desire substance free will be assigned a substance free room. A list of eligible students will be maintained by the Director of Housing Operations.
In the event there are not enough substance free lottery groups to maintain current numbers, some mods may be given up to the general lottery. The residents of a substance free mod will be given, upon request, a list of eligible students from whom to input when vacancies occur.
Once a student applies and as long as s/he continues to live in substance free housing, s/he need not re-apply. If a student is housed in substance free housing without having applied, s/he will be asked to apply for the next semester or move. If an applicant lives in housing not designated substance free, they may need to re-apply each semester in order to be kept on the active eligible list.
