Hampshire College

Each housing area is supported by a group of paraprofessional staff we call interns.  They are fellow Hampshire students who live among the students.  They have been extensively trained in a variety of areas to support the ongoing developmental and administrative needs of our students. They assist the professional staff in providing a variety of services for residents of the Houses, including: 

• peer support and referrals to on- and off-campus resources
• knowledgeable resources for emergency help
• mediation/conflict resolution
• planning and implementing programming events
• dissemination of information through house newsletters and weekly flyers
• processing requests for repairs and maintenance needs
• staff coverage during non-business hours
• lock-outs
• communicating with residents regarding norms of community living
