Zotero: Manage and Cite your Sources

Do you hate typing your bibliography when you’re finally done with your paper?
Do you lose track of the books and articles and websites you’ve used for a paper?
Try Zotero.

Zotero is a free Firefox extension that manages and formats a bibliography from the sources you are using in the course of your research.

It can handle books, articles, video clips, mp3 files, images, web pages and other resources and lets you choose from more than10 different citation styles (APA, MLA, Chicago, e.g.).

You can link Zotero to Word and then automatically generate a bibliography from the items you want to cite.

  1. Download Zotero to your Firefox browser.
  2. Choose version 1.0.
  3. Look at the Zotero Basics to find out how it works or contact a librarian for a quick tutorial on how Zotero works.
