Besides periodicals, users have access to data from important yearbooks and select museum bulletins.
  • ARTstor Digital images and related data. Hundreds of thousands of images for academic use. JSTOR Sandbox The Sandbox is where prototypes of new search tools are showcased.   • CAMIO RLG's Catalog of Art Museum Images Online is a growing online collection documenting works of art from around the world.   • Architecture and building A practical, straightforward gateway to more than 1000 key resources in architecture, intended for academic use and well-maintained.
  • Archives of American Art Part of the Smithsonian, this is a good place for research on American art history.
  • Artcyclopedia They have indexed 700 leading arts sites, and offer links to works by 7,000 different artists. Links to sites where artists' works can be viewed online. Search by artist, school,work title, or museum.
  • Art & Architecture Thesaurus Online Enormous database of terms that includes brief definitions as well as hierarchical trees.
  • Art Deadlines List An international list of competitions, contests, grants, scholarships, jobs, internships, etc. in the arts.
  • Art History Research Center Well-designed site providing access to a large number and wide variety of links in art history.
  • Art History Resources on the Web A well-established, clear outline and taxonomy, from an art history professor at Sweet Briar College.
  • CCA Architecture List A Canadian site for architecture on the Internet, with links to meta-sites such as Cyburbia (SUNY Buffalo), free searchable online indexes, and other sites.
  • Cities and Buildings Database Over 7,500 images of architecture and city view from around the world. Part of the University of Washington's digital collections.
  • Coleccion Cisneros For the study of Latin American art, sponsored by the Venezuela-based Fundacion Cisneros, and based primarily on its collections.
  • The Five College Museums/Historic Deerfield Collections A searchable database of the art collections of the Five Colleges and Historic Deerfield. Also see Museums 10 which includes information about materials in the art museums and galleries of the Five Colleges as well as other museums in the area.
  • Great Buildings Online Photographic images, information on architects, and architectural drawings from around the world.
  • Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide Online journal focussing on nineteenth-century visual culture. Spring 2002-present.
  • RIBA British Architectural Library Catalogue Online The online catalog of the Royal Institute of British Architects also indexes over 300 architecture journals.
  • Virtual Library Museums Page Links to web sites of museums and online exhibitions all over the world. Provides annotations of each museum and indicates the language used on the museum's web site.
  • Voice of the Shuttle: Art History and Architecture Links to art and architecture resources, including image sites, chronological information, and many general sites. Fully searchable. From UC Santa Barbara.
  • Web Gallery of Art "A searchable database of European painting and sculpture of the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods (1200-1700), currently containing over 6,500 reproductions. Biographies, commentaries, guided tours are available." Provides good-sized images with detailed file information.
