International Distribution for Professor's Film
Danish Broadcasting has just picked up Professor of Video, Film, and Media Studies Joan Braderman’s
film, The Heretics
, for international distribution.
The feature-length documentary, distributed in North America by Women Make Movies, explores second-wave feminism by following the feminist arts group, The Heresies Collective, as it creates and produces Heresies: A Feminist Publication on Art and Politics
. The magazine was published from 1977-1992.
The Heretics has been well received at film screenings and garnered critical acclaim in articles by The New York Times
, The Village Voice
, and The Washington Post
, among others. Braderman also worked with a couple of Hampshire students and alumni on the project, including cinematographer Lily Henderson 02F
and graphic artist Molly McLeod 05F
