On October 31, 2008, Eric Krasno 95F returned to the Hampshire campus. His band, Eric Krasno and Chapter 2, headlined Hampshire Halloween that night, and in the afternoon he and band-mate Nigel Hall gave an intimate duo performance in Franklin Patterson Hall.
The two interspersed their performances with informal question and answer sessions with the crowd. Towards the end of the afternoon, Krasno and Hall performed a beautiful version of Donny Hathaway's reading of Leon Russell's classic "A Song for You."
Says organizer Alex Torpey F05, "As a young school with relatively few Hampshire alumni in existence, it was really moving to see such a successful alum such as Eric Krasno talk about his experiences at Hampshire and beyond. Hearing Krasno say 'When I was Div 3...' was pretty strange. It reminded me 'Oh Yeah, this unbelievably successful musician started his career recording an album in a dorm room at Hampshire.' Hearing that definitely instilled a sense of legacy of Hampshire for me - a feeling that is inspiring for current and prospective students of our college."
