Priyanka Basnet is the nutrition and gender advisor for a nutrition-sensitive agriculture project in Laos. Her work involves building the resilience of rural communities, so families have year-round access to healthy and nutritious diets.

Priyanka developed her passion for food systems at Hampshire after taking classes with Larry Winship and Dula Amarasiriwardena. Her Div III research looked at the contamination of rice from mining activities in Hunan, China. Upon graduating from Hampshire, she worked as a research assistant at The Senator Frank R. Lautenberg Environmental Health Sciences Laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Before starting her career in global nutrition she studied at the Friedman School of Nutrition at Tufts University where she received a master's degree in Agriculture, Food and Environment.
