JTW-0224: Developing Ideas, Revising Prose

This workshop is open to writers of all levels, from first-year students seeking to pass cumulative skills in Writing and Research, to Division III students revising a chapter of their project. The one prerequisite is a non-fiction paper (or chapter) suitable for revision. We will meet daily. Each meeting will begin with a 30-45 minute instructor presentation on some aspect of the writing/revising process. Next, participants will work on their projects in the Writing Center (either on a laptop or writing lab computer) for 3 hours, with the instructor conferring individually with students as questions come up. Workshop meetings will end with a 30-45 minute group discussion of the day's writing. Prerequisite: Students must have a paper or chapter suitable for revision.
