Mission

The Event Services and Summer Programs Office (ESSPO) support Hampshire College in prioritizing, planning and supporting events and programs on campus. ESSPO services Hampshire College students, faculty and staff as well as external organizations and individuals. ESSPO coordinates efforts of college service departments on behalf of event sponsors. In support of the college’s mission, ESSPO provides organizational and logistical services that are timely, professional, flexible, and customer-driven.

The ESSPO supports the mission of Hampshire College in the following ways:

• Serve as the primary reservation office with the exception of academic classes. Provides prompt, customer-oriented service to coordinate logistical event support.
• Act as a consultant to event sponsors who need assistance selecting the most appropriate spaces, equipment and services. Offers support to inexperienced program planners on how to plan successful events.
• Act as a liaison between service departments and the greater campus community. Logistical support services include assisting with the selection of the appropriate event or program space, coordination of campus event support services (facilities and grounds, media services, food and beverage, and public safety) equipment rentals, floral arrangements, signage, security, and parking.
• Support the use of college facilities for events done in partnership between college sponsors and external entities when those events are compatible with the college mission.
• Coordinate the rental of college facilities to external organizations and individuals to generate revenue for the college.  Focuses such efforts principally during the summer months and wedding season.
• Active in public relations and represents the college on various town organizations.
