Miscellaneous
Q: A few forms ask for my student ID number. Where do I find that?
A: When you receive your bill, it is listed as your account number. It should be seven digits long.
Q: When can I register for courses?
A: After June 12, all first-year students will be able to fill out course preference forms for courses via TheHub. This is NOT the same as registering for courses. After July 1, students' course schedules will be determined based on their course preferences. There is no preference given to students filling out the form early, as long as it is complete before July 1.
Q: But I'm a transfer student.
A: Transfer students also fill out a course preference form on TheHub (as explained above), but will be given different directions. Be sure to follow the directions on this form. Any questions can be directed to Central Records at 413.559.5421 or centralrecords@hampshire.edu.
Q: When is the deadline to complete course preference forms?
A: The deadline to complete course preference forms for both first years and transfers is July 15th.
Q: What happens if I missed the deadline?
A: Any new or transfer students who miss the July 1 course preferences form deadline will be assigned a "random" course load by Central Records, and will have to do what they can to change it once they are on campus.
Q: When will I be able to view my preliminary course schedule?
A: In mid-August when you sign in to TheHub, you will be able to view your preliminary schedule by clicking on “My Class Schedule.”
Q: When will I see my housing assignment?
A: Housing assignments will be e-mailed to your Hampshire e-mail address in mid-August. Please note that official housing assignments are not final until the day you come on campus and receive your keys.
Q: When will I find out who my advisor is?
A: When you receive your preliminary course schedules (mid-August), you will have one course with a "T" in the course number. This is your first-year tutorial, which is taught by your assigned advisor. You will meet your advisor individually and with your tutorial group during orientation.
Q: Can I ship things to the college before I come?
A: Yes, you can ship things to your campus mailbox AFTER August 15, but please do not ship anything that you will need for your first week. Hampshire's post office is very busy this time of year, and it may take up to a week after you arrive before you are able to pick up your packages. You should pack and bring with you sheets, a pillow, a towel, an alarm clock, clothes, toiletries, and your telephone.
Q: How do I format my Hampshire College address?
A: Please use the following format for your mailing address for all packages and mail. You can find out your box number by going to directory.hampshire.edu and searching for yourself.

Q: Is there any way to move in early?

Learn about opening day activities and family orientation by visiting the Information for Families page.
Q: When do families say goodbye/leave for good?
