Thank you for taking the time to complete a reference form. Candidates may be applying for positions as house interns (residential assistants) and/or orientation staff. The students who asked you to provide a reference can clarify for you which positions(s) they are applying for, as well as what type of reference they are asking you for (professional, peer, or advisor). Job descriptions are available for you to review.

Please complete the applicable reference form by clicking on the corresponding link below. All references should be completed through our online form and submitted electronically by Wednesday, March 7, at 4 p.m. Please contact Sarah Aldrich or Susan King in the dean of students office (413.559.5412) with any questions.

Professional reference form
Professional references are furnished by individuals who have supervised and/or worked with applicants in a professional capacity, including faculty members and academic advisors. This should not be a personal reference (aka: family member or friend). 

Peer reference form
Peer references are provided by Hampshire College students who have worked with applicants on campus, or can offer perspective on their skills. Applicants for the house intern position are strongly encouraged to have the form completed by a current or former intern.

Advisor form
Advisor forms are to be completed by the applicant's academic advisor only. Advisors may complete the professional reference form as well if asked to do so by the applicant.
