Hampshire College has been honored to receive funding from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to support internships focused on theatrical motion picture production. This year we are honored to have received at total of $10,000 to support two students doing internships. Each student will be awarded $5000.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
In order to be considered for this funding, applicants must:
- Be a current Hampshire student in good academic standing.
- Be returning to Hampshire upon completion of the internship, or be on campus during the internship.
- Have a supervised internship focused on theatrical motion picture production. Internships related to all aspects of film or video production intended for the big screen including animation, narrative, and documentary film are eligible. (Internships focused on television or the Internet are not eligible. Film festival internships are not eligible.)
- The student must commit at least 200 hours to the internship.
At least half of the funding will be awarded to students from groups underrepresented in the motion picture industry, which includes women, people of color, and other minority groups. Priority will be given to students with high financial need and students who are doing eligible internships with Hampshire alums through the Entertainment Industry Internship Program; however, all applicants will be considered.
