Funding Opportunities

Urgent Support Fund for Students

Your gift to the Urgent Support Fund will provide restricted current-year support for financial aid, faculty salaries, and staff support that our current students urgently need.

The Hampshire Fund

Provides unrestricted support for faculty, staff and students.

Faculty

Hampshire's faculty bring knowledge, passion, and boundless energy to their work with students.

In addition to a full teaching load, faculty serve on students' divisional committees, helping them discern their educational and intellectual focus, establishing standards for academic rigor, and offering mentorship through regular meetings and portfolio reviews.

Your gift supports faculty development, start-up funds for new faculty, and endowed faculty chairs.

Financial Aid and Student Projects

Most colleges and universities cover the bulk of their financial aid grants through income generated by well-established, sizable endowments. As a young college, Hampshire's endowment is still quite modest, but we are no less committed to financial aid.

Hampshire devotes almost a quarter of its annual operating budget to help support students who would otherwise lack the means to attend college. Fifty-two percent of our students received financial aid last year.

Division II and Division III students need the freedom to undertake worthwhile independent projects without being constrained by cost. Student project funds, like financial aid, go to the heart of our distinctive educational program.

One of our current priorities for financial aid is to build an endowment for the James Baldwin Scholars Program.

Library Acquisitions and Technology

With technology changing so rapidly the way that information is accessed, the library's technological capability is as important as the number of volumes and periodicals it acquires.

Named Endowed Funds for Information Technology and Library Acquisitions are priority investments in the College's educational resources.

My experience at Hampshire was one of the deepest and richest chapters of my life.
