The Tashmoo Lecture Series welcomes Nigerian filmmaker and photographer Andrew Dosunmu, who will present his film "Mother of George," at 7pm, Monday, March 30 in Screening Room 120, Jerome Liebling Center. Q&A with the filmmaker to follow.
"Mother of George," won the Best Cinematography Award at the Sundance Film Festival and Andrew Dosunmu won the Best Director award for the film at the 2014 Africa International Film Festival. Dosunmu is the director of "Hot Irons," which won Best Documentary at FESPACO, and "Restless City," which premiered at Sundance. He has also directed numerous music videos for artists including Isaac Hayes, Aaron Neville and Tracy Chapman.
The Tashmoo Lecture Series welcomes Rhys Ernst, Hampshire S01, a 2014 Whitney Biennial artist and award winning filmmaker, and Faith Soloway, writer and musician, at 7pm, Monday, April 6, in the Main Lecture Hall at Hampshire College. Ernst is a producer and Soloway is a writer for Amazon’s groundbreaking series Transparent, winner of 2015 Golden Globe Awards for best comedy series and best actor (Jeffrey Tambor).
