Michael Denning is William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of American Studies and English at Yale University. An influential figure in American Studies and Cultural Studies, Denning has examined contemporary representations of workers, the unemployed, and the figure of "global labor." He is the author of Culture in the Age of Three Worlds (2004), The Cultural Front: The Laboring of American Culture in the Twentieth Century (1997), Cover Stories: Narrative and Ideology in the British Spy Thriller (1987), and Mechanic Accents: Dime Novels and Working Class Culture in America (1987).
