On-Campus Dining Options for Academic Year 2019-2020

As announced last spring, dining options for the coming academic year are shifting due to a smaller student body

We’d like to thank the 353 students who participated in the spring 2019 dining survey and we have configured our plans based on their feedback.

The Bridge Café, Dining Commons, Kern Kafé, Hampstore, and Mixed Nuts will all be in service. Between these locations, three meals a day will be offered on weekdays, and two meals (brunch and dinner) on weekends. See dining hours for each location below.

Students are not required to join a meal plan for the 19-20 Academic year, but Hampshire offers a variety of competitively priced Block Meal Plans which include guest meal tickets that can be shared with others. This coming year, students can use their Block Meal Plan as a swap for any meal at the Bridge Café, Dining Commons, and Kern Kafé. Details for Block Meal Plan options and how to purchase will be sent later this summer.

As in previous years, the Café Card is required for all students. Students are billed a $400 Café Card fee each semester, which will be entered on their OneCard. The Café Card can be used for any purchase at the Bridge Café, Dining Commons, Kern Kafé, and Mixed Nuts. In addition, all Hampstore items can now be purchased with your Café Card. Café Card funds carry over from fall to spring and are nonrefundable and nontransferable. You may add funds to your Café Card at any time at by choosing "Cafe Card Upgrade" from the drop-down menu under the "Make a One-Time Payment" section.

Those students living in the ‘mods’ (Hampshire’s apartment-style on-campus housing) can sign up for a Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) vegetable share from the Hampshire Farm at no cost. A vegetable share is a selection of fresh, seasonal produce that students pick up weekly from the Hampshire Farm throughout the fall growing season. Look for more details in your Hampshire email soon. Share availability will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so sign up on August 1 to ensure a share for your mod.

The Hampshire Farm and Student Life will be providing a series of workshops on cooking tips and techniques during the fall semester. Student Life will also offer expanded options for grocery store transportation.
