'Breaking the Barriers: The ATA and Black Tennis Pioneers' at Hampshire College

Hampshire College invites the general public to celebrate Black Tennis History at the Bay Road Tennis Club on February 14 starting at 10 a.m.

Hampshire College invites the general public to celebrate Black Tennis History at the Bay Road Tennis Club on February 14 starting at 10 a.m.

Art and Lex Carrington of the Carrington Tennis Academy, and top local junior players will offer free tennis instruction from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

At 11:30, Breaking the Barriers: The ATA and Black Tennis Pioneers, a multimedia presentation co-curated by Art Carrington exploring the history of the oldest African-American-oriented sport association in the country will take place, followed by a discussion.

Breaking the Barriers will be on display at the Bay Road Tennis Club throughout the month of February.
