BRIDGES TO COLLEGE

The First Niagara Foundation and the Paul and Phyllis Fireman Charitable Foundation have each awarded grants to support the work of Hampshire Youth Connect. Youth Connect builds bridges to college for underserved children and youth and creates connections between Hampshire College and community organizations. More »

HUMANITIES RESEARCH BOOK GRANT

Professor Alicia Ellis and former visiting faculty member David Munson made a $5,000 gift to establish Hampshire's new Humanities Research Book Grant. Division III students working in the humanities can apply through this newly established fund for individual grants to purchase books central to their studies. More »

ANIMAL COMMUNICATION

The John T. and Jane A. Wiederhold Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to the College to support research by Professor Sarah Partan and her students on the role of environmental change in the evolution of animal communication. While the project will provide valuable information about Eastern Gray Squirrel behavior in particular, it could also provide a localized contribution to the global effort to understand how animals adapt to changing habitats.
