Earl has been an instructor in the Hampshire College Outdoors Program since 1987. His interests include paddling, climbing (ice, mountain, rock), and bicycling (road and mountain). Earl has been fortunate enough to have been able to pursue his interests in many of the most spectacular mountain ranges in the world. His courses at Hampshire include bicycle maintenance, whitewater kayaking, and all aspects of climbing and skiing. He has led Hampshire January Term trips to Greece, Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico, the Colorado river through Grand Canyon, ice climbing in New England and rock climbing in the Southwestern United States.
