This is the year of our transition.
At Hampshire, we strive to create a vibrant community grounded in collaborative and thoughtful engagement with each other and the world, and committed to an ongoing process of learning and growth. Our model of social justice includes an emphasis on holistic wellness—wellness of the mind, spirit, emotions, and body—which guides us in working together towards a more sustainable future.
As we continue the work of building a wellness-oriented campus culture, we are undertaking an initiative to be a smoke-free campus by Fall 2019. This includes e-cigarettes, vaping, and any other smoke or vapor-producing products. To allow sufficient time to adjust to this change, the academic year 2018-2019 will be a transition year where smoking will be permitted in Designated Smoking Areas (DSAs) only.
