Meet Your Wellness Center (Enfield) Peer Supports!

Image removed.Benjamin Rubin: Hey there! My name is Benjamin, but I also go by Ben, Benji, or Benyamin. I use he/him pronouns. I am a Div 2 student studying Clinical Psychology, Social Psychology and Biology. I’m particularly interested in the evolution of interpersonal/group dynamics, empathy, and the emerging science of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. I love gobbling up books, having exciting conversations, going to metal concerts, and spending time in wilderness. Being a peer support is meaningful to me because the opportunity to be involved in a community of compassionate and caring students who want nothing more than to help others reminds me of the basic goodness contained in humans. I became a member of P.E.E.R.S. because I wanted to learn how to support students, and to remind them that there are those out there who can offer their presence in even the most difficult of times.

Image removed.Sophia Wells: Hey!! My name is Sophia - or just Soph, and I use they/them pronouns. I’m a third year Div II studying neuroscience and psychology, and I’m especially interested in how spirituality intersects with both. If you know me you probably know I’ve also swung between the overlaps of brain/mental health with nutrition as well, and I was pretty invested in fungi (mycorrhizae!) for a while there. I’m all over the place. The spring of 2019 will be my first semester as a member of P.E.E.R.S., and I’m more than excited to finally be joining the team after a couple years of being a scaredy cat! I’ve been around since fall of 2016 and I care deeply about the well-being of the other students who have made Hampshire their home too. Connection and community, or connection with our community, is one of the best things we can offer each other, and as P.E.E.R.S. we do just that. I look forward to meeting you!!

Image removed.Cleo Roback: Hi there! My name is Cleo (she/her) and I’m a Div 1 here at Hampshire, and you can find me in the Wellness Center. I’m currently interested in studying social entrepreneurship as well as domestic animal welfare and rehabilitation. In addition, I am always down for a cute animal picture so please, pet photos encouraged! This is my first year as a member of P.E.E.R.S., and I couldn’t be more excited. As a first year student I am very familiar with the difficulties one can face during this exciting yet sometimes difficult transition period. I became a peer support because I want to be able to give back to the amazing Hampshire College community that has been so very welcoming to me. .
