Application and Fees

The CMI undergraduate program is on hiatus for summer 2016

Who Can Apply?

Emerging and established artists, working professionals, academics, critical thinkers, and undergraduate college students. Anyone can apply to be accepted into any or all of the four weeks. Only undergraduate college students will receive credit when attending all four weeks.

Undergraduate college students seeking admittance to all four weeks must submit creative works or works-in-progress to be considered. Non-college students seeking admittance into a lab week must submit creative works or works-in-progress to be considered.

Applications and Deadlines

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Only completed applications are reviewed.

April 3: Priority Deadline for all applications (the last date by which we can guarantee space in the program)
May 2: Application Deadline (all application materials must be submitted)
May 15: Payment Deadline (all deposits and payments must be submitted)

This is an intensive course. Hampshire College recommends the equivalent of 4 academic credits for the completion of a full course. Students are strongly encouraged to check with their home institutions about the number of accepted transfer credits. Upon completion of the program, students may request a Hampshire College transcript.

Fees: Includes Tuition, Room, and Board

The CMI undergraduate program is on hiatus for summer 2016.

Residency Requirement

Due to the intensive nature of the program, all participants are strongly recommended to reside on campus for the duration of the course. The program fee includes full residency and meal plan, plus course materials and fees.

If you are a Hampshire student interested in seeking financial aid, you should indicate your intent on the application. The financial aid office will be notified directly and will determine if you have any remaining 2014-2015 eligibility for federal grant and loan funds. Students from other colleges should check with their home institutions regarding available financial aid.

Health Insurance

Please note that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires all students to carry health insurance. Upon acceptance to the Creative Media Institute Summer Academic Program, you will be asked to provide proof of insurance or required to purchase temporary coverage that could increase the overall program cost.
