Financial Assistance

There is some financial assistance available for this program. If you are interested in applying for financial assistance to attend the Institute for Transforming Social Justice, please write a statement of need and email it to summer@hampshire.edu after you apply to the program.

Applications and Deadlines

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Only completed applications are reviewed. Please see the 2017 application timeline below:

April 7: Priority Deadline for all completed and submitted applications to receive a 10% tuition discount

April 21: Deposit Deadline ($400 deposit must be received in order to secure your spot in the program)

May 1: Application Deadline (application materials must be submitted)

May 15: Payment Deadline (all payments must be submitted)

Credits

This is an intensive course. Hampshire College recommends the equivalent of 4 academic credits for the completion of a full course. Students are strongly encouraged to check with their home institutions about the number of accepted transfer credits. Upon completion of the program, students may request a Hampshire College transcript.

Residency Requirement

Because of the intensive nature of the program, all participants are strongly recommended to reside on campus for the duration of the course. The program fees above (tuition + housing) include full residency and most program materials.

Health Insurance

Please note that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires all students to carry health insurance. Upon acceptance to the program, you will be asked to provide proof of insurance or required to purchase temporary coverage that could increase the overall program cost.
