The Center for Teaching and Learning

The Center for Teaching and Learning fosters open exchange about teaching and learning among faculty at Hampshire College, providing a forum for faculty to share classroom teaching ideas and discuss challenges.

The founding faculty who established the college in 1970 were encouraged to experiment with different approaches to teaching and learning.

The center continues to support that tradition of innovation today as original faculty members retire and new ones replace them.

The Center for Teaching and Learning is supported by a grant from the Davis Educational Foundation, established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis's retirement as chairman of Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc.
